Description

A full day of birding can be a little tiring, especially for beginners who are seeing too many new species to keep up with! This abbreviated version of a Big Day will attempt to accumulate a nice list of birds, from passerines by the river to waterfowl in the wetlands and raptors above. Instead of ending by dusk, we’ll finish by noon! Bring snacks, water, and binoculars. Carpooling is mandatory to keep the number of vehicles to a minimum.

Field Trip Leader

Ross Schaefer

Ross Schaefer has enjoyed nature from a young age. He decided he wanted to be an Ornithologist at 6 years old, and hasn't stopped birding since. Quite the world traveler, Ross has a lot of birding knowledge to share from around the world. He especially loves pelagic birding, and is currently a student at Chico State, studying Biology, of course.
