We'll caravan down Hwy 99, south of Chico, and practice our new skills on as many of these birds of prey as we can. Target species include Bald Eagle, Ferruginous Hawk, Merlin, Prairie Falcon, and more. Dress for very cold weather, bring a scope if you have it, and binoculars are a MUST! After collecting data, kids will share their experiences at lunchtime over pizza. The results will become part of a database that scientists can look at to see how the birds in our area are doing. How many birds can you find? Open to youth ages 9-15. Youth must be accompanied by at least one parent. There is no charge for parents. Pizza and drinks are included.
