$8 Adult ; $5 Youth
11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Location: Chico Masonic Family Center

The writings of critically acclaimed author and Zen master, Lin Jensen, have been likened to those of Thoreau and Steinbeck. Of Lin’s book Bad Dog!, Christopher Moore wrote, "Bad Dog! reads like something Steinbeck might have written had he been a Buddhist and I can pay an author no higher compliment." Of his book Deep Down Things, David Loy wrote, "Our Buddhist Thoreau gets deep down under the roots of our disconnection from the earth and each other and how we can be healed." It is Lin’s observation that our bodies often know where we are and what’s needed even when we don’t. Join Lin in a reading of original works evoking the inevitable path each of us walks on our own.

Presenter: Lin Jensen

I never saw a bird like that in my backyard before, is it rare? What happened to that nice singer that spent most of the spring in my yard? I swear I saw a canary in my yard! Could it have escaped from a cage? Join Mac, who will give you tips on identifying some of Northern California’s birds that visit your backyard and explain why many of them seem to seasonally disappear. In addition, he will make suggestions regarding reference material to help you become a better backyard "birder."
