Meet at Chico Creek Nature Center (Map)
More vigorous hiking, some elevation gain/loss
Enjoy the beauty of nature while touring and birding the vineyard. The vineyard, at 2600 feet elevation on Doe Mill Ridge, offers magnificent canyon views. Tastings of their award-winning organic wines along with chocolate and cheese will be part of the tour as well as learning about the art of organic wine-making! Bring lunch, water, and sturdy footwear for hiking.
Dawn Garcia works professionally as a wildlife biologist and is an active conservationist with the Altacal Audubon Society. She has had her federal bird banding license since 1992 and has initiated studies with songbirds and owls. Birding, bird-banding, and enjoying hikes and the beauty of nature are some of her passions.
