Description

The Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology is delighted to be partnering with the Altacal Audubon Society and Snow Goose Festival. This exhibition will investigate the lives of birds and their impact and importance on human cultures, combining views from natural history and anthropological perspectives. The exhibit will show the deeply rooted cross-cultural connections between humans and birds, showcasing some beautiful artifacts from contemporary indigenous Maya, Hawaiian, and Northwest Pacific cultures.

The exhibit will be open January 25 - September 21, Tuesday - Saturday, 11:00am - 3:00pm. The museum will add an extra open day on Sunday, January 27th, from 11:00am - 3:00pm to accommodate the Snow Goose Festival. There will also be a public opening reception on Thursday, January 24th, from 5:00pm - 6:30pm.
