The always-popular
Saturday evening Banquet & Silent Auction returns~ this time
featuring a presentation on the Alaskan Arctic by Michael Denega.
Michael
Denega brings his enthusiasm as a dynamic instructor and researcher
of biological sciences to his birding. His travels and studies have
taken him from the northern-most regions of the Pacific Flyway in
Alaska to the southern-most habitats of South America, yet he still
makes his home in the Central Valley, where he encourages his students
to learn by going out in the field. Michael has, for several years,
volunteered for the US Fish & Wildlife Service as a research
biologist and has been their chief photographer for various arctic
research projects.
Please
join Michael for his stunning and passionate presentation of wildlife
of the Alaskan Arctic. The show, "Arctic Visions of a Research Volunteer",
will focus on shorebirds of the arctic region and promises to delight
the audience with incredible scenery and wildlife pictures, with
particular emphasis on the imperiled Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
