Workshop is at Patrick Ranch Museum (Map)
Have you wanted to get better pictures of birds but don't want to spend thousands of dollars on heavy camera equipment? As technology has advanced our smartphone cameras have become great tools to get amazing images of the birds we watch using the optics we already have with -- our binoculars and spotting scopes! This workshop will give you some tips and tricks to use your phone's camera through a spotting scope or binoculars to capture some of the birds you see. We will explore the grounds of the Patrick Museum for some hands-on experience using Swarovski Optik scopes, binoculars, and adapters. This workshop is also offerred on Saturday.
Steve Abbott has enjoyed birding since the age of six. Born and raised in New Hampshire, Steve moved to Sacramento in 1997 and quickly became enamored with California's avifauna. He has led field trips for several birding festivals over the last 25 years and enjoys helping others discover new species. Since becoming a Field Tech for Swarovski Optik several years ago, Steve has been able to share his passion for birds at various festivals across the United States.
