Workshop: Tracks, Trails and Talons - Free

Saturday, Jan 25, 2025 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Workshop is at Patrick Ranch - Pat's Barn (Map)

Description

While birding often has us looking to the skies, there's a whole world of clues at your feet! In this one-hour workshop, you'll learn how to identify wildlife tracks to reveal often missed information about your surroundings. Discover the presence of secretive animals like beavers, river otters, woodrats, and other creatures while gaining a deeper appreciation for the ecosystem that supports the birds you love. You'll also learn how to distinguish between the commonly confused tracks of a dog and a mountain lion—knowledge that will better equip you to respond appropriately. By expanding your focus to include tracking, you'll enrich your birding experience and connect more deeply with the natural world.

Please note this is a free event, but you must register online or in person. Workshops take place in the Vintage Iron Museum with limited heat so please bring a blanket and/or dress in layers to keep comfortable.
