Description

Start at River Bend Park in Oroville and walk the easy paved trail along the Feather River. This is one of the best places to see many species of diving ducks including Buffleheads, Common Mergansers, Common Goldeneyes, and with some luck a Barrow's Goldeneye. Herons, Egrets, and Phainopepla are often seen and there's a good chance to see a Bald Eagle as well. Then we head over to the Feather River Nature Center historic "Bath House Museum" and get a private tour and learn about Oroville's colorful history and see exhibits of local wildlife, along with items of cultural or historical interest of the area. Bring binoculars, lunch and water, and dress in layers. We'll have lunch on the grounds of the Nature Center.
